NEDiv ClubRally Newsletter
April 2003

ALL RIGHT!!!
I'm finally off nightshift, and ready to catch up with my rally duties. With the rally season about to begin in earnest, I'd like to say good luck to all the NEDIV competitors for the 2003 season.

In case you didn't notice, a number of the NEDIV champs elected to make the tow out to 100 Acre Woods, and boy did they shine! Check out the coverage in this month's Sportscar, and congratulate these folks when you see them: Drislane/Burke are Open Class champions; Tremmel/Coleman are Production Class champions; Groo/Pinkham and Duarte/Johnson finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in Group 2; and Bourdette/Kennedy finished 2nd in Group 5. Great job by everyone!

It's my pleasure to announce the winners of the first annual Rallysport NEDIV Rookie of The Year awards. The awards are named for a stalwart in the NEDIV Rally crowd, a drinker of many beers and a teller of many lies. Yes, you guessed it, Dick Casey! Oh yeah, he was pretty successful in both seats of a rally car, too. ( I remember he was leading a Sandhills event one year in his P-car and he was the winning 02 co-driver one year at well, buy him a beer or two, and he'll finish those stories. You decide if they're lies!) After much deliberation, and a tight competition, the awards go to Jonathan Bottoms and Eric Dahlgren. Congratulations to the both of them on a great season, with Jonathan winning PGT his first time out.

The votes are in! Due to overwhelming demand, the NEDIV Championship scoring is going to remain the same for 2003 as it was for 2002. The same number of total and OOD coefficients will count, etc, etc. For a refresher, see my 1st quarter letter from 2002. Thanks to all who responded to the questionnaire.

The one question that we had a draw on was the inclusion of the Dureya Hillclimb. It's a fun, well run event, and a great place to get inexpensive tarmac practice. Let myself or any other Blue Mountain Region member know what you think, so they can decide whether to sanction it as a Rallysprint again this year. And as a note, BMR is currently looking hard for a new site for the RallyRight school. Watch this space.

There are some rule changes for this year, check Fasttrack or SCCA online for the complete listing, but the three I recall are Spill Kits, P and PGT hood pins and quieter exhausts are all required at Club and Pro events. What??? You think my car is too loud?? Check it out next event, I can hear the stereo again!

One last thing; I've got 7 used 14/62-15 Michelins for sale. I'll have them with me at Sawmill and STPR. $25 each or all 7 for $150. See you out in the woods. Be safe and have fun!
