Frank and Dan's performance rallying career began in 1986, and in their second year they won the Novice Class in the Ontario Rally Championship. In 1990, rallying in their newly converted Audi Quattro Coupe, they won the Open Class and took second overall in the Canadian Rally Championship. 1991 saw the Sprongls take first place in the Canadian Rally Championship as well as winning the Open Class in 1991 and 1992. These accomplishments early in their rallying career evolved into a winning pattern that became synonymous with the name Sprongl.

To date, Frank and Dan hold an amazing record of five Canadian Rally Championship titles and three North American Rally Cup championship titles. 1997 marked the beginning of a winning streak that included first place finishes in 10 consecutive U.S. and Canadian events. They shattered the overall record for the Sports Car Club of America's Audi-Mt. Washington Hillclimb by 4 seconds.

Though still young enough to continue their rallying careers for another couple of decades, both Frank and Dan already qualify for Grand Master status in lifetime standings of the Canadian Association of Rally Sport (CARS). Individually, Frank is Canada's only FIA-seeded Driver and Dan, in addition to being the Co-driver, is also the logistics and management expert for the team.

These rallyists are also accomplished entrepreneurs as they own and operate Four Star Motorsports Inc. in Georgetown, Ontario. Their business involves the conversion of production cars to rally specifications including suspension, brakes, roll cage fabrication, and engine modifications and upgrades. They work on rally cars from the vintage class to Group A and also modify street vehicles. Intertwined with all this, they prep their own Audi Quattro and are the sole distributors of Yokohama Rally Tires across Canada.
