Ted has been involved in rallying since 1989 when he was a course worker at the Susquehannock Trail ProRally. He soon began co-driving for his friend Ted Donlon. Their first event together was at the 1989 Sabattus Winter Rally in Maine.
Following a season of rallying together, he bought Ted Donlon's SAAB 99 rally car and competed as a driver for the next three years. He retired the SAAB in 1993 and began co-driving for his friend Carl Fisher. During this time Carl and Ted had many rally adventures in the US and Canada, leading to some top ten National finishes and several Divisional wins.
Ted took most of 1996-1997 off to build a garage and get married to Lise. After knowing Ted for 24 years (they have been friends since high school), she finally accepted the challenge of navigating him in a Pro Rally car. Ted traded his Acura Integra daily driver for Lise's Nissa Sentra SE-R and her committment to co-drive.
Both Lise and the Rally Sentra debuted at the 1997 Maine Winter Rally. She and Ted finished third overall in the Seven Islands Divisional rally. The only modification to the Sentra has been a Drummond Motor Sports rally suspension.
Ted and Lise have continued to rally in the eastern US and Canada with good results, good attitude and good fun.
Ted, born on 12/25/57 is a tool designer by day. Lise, born on 6/21/58 is a nurse with one son, Joel Estes. They live in southern New Hampshire with their dog and cat.
