Team No Trees to Promote KRC Winter Driving School for 2001 SCCA Prorally Season

Ferndale, MICHIGAN -- Team No Trees proudly announces it's new corporate partner for the remainder of the 2001 SCCA ProRally season: The Michigan Tech KRC Winter Driving School. Located in Houghton, Michigan, the school provides essential skills training for winter street driving and also offers a professional tire evaluators program. With an average annual snowfall of 275 inches and a highly skilled staff, the conditions are ideal for learning the proper techniques required for safe winter driving. Information about the school and its program can be found at www.mtukrc.org. or by calling Mark Osborne at (906) 487-2626.

Brian Vinson, team driver, and Richard Beels, team co-driver, are excited about the new relationship: " Having KRC on board gives both entities a competitive advantage. The school will receive national exposure through the presence of our very unique 1997 Toyota Supra Turbo as well as the ever expanding media coverage of the ProRally series. Our team benefits from the additional funding and testing opportunities at the KRC facility. We look forward to putting us both in a position to win."

After a discouraging start to the season with three DNF's in three starts, the 2000 Production Class champs hope to change their fortune in the Maine Forest Rally on July 29. Held outside of the beautiful town of Rumford, Maine, the ex-logging roads used for the event pose considerable challenges for the car and the team. "From what I remember in 1998, the roads are very fast but often have large rocks protruding from the surface and logpiles are stacked everywhere just off the road", said Vinson. "And how could I forget the many wooden bridges without guardrails that cross over ravines and streams. Thankfully, the Toyota is a very tough car and with 400 horsepower on tap, we should have the speed to run at the front of our class."
