PHOENIX, Arizona, USA -- AV Sport today announced that Mark Nelson will join their team for the 2003 season. The talented young American driver will campaign a new open class Subaru, currently being prepared by AV Sport in Phoenix.

Nelson tested an AV Sport Subaru for the first time on the Ramada Express Rally in December, winning by three minutes.

"It is very exciting to have Mark join our team and I am sure he will prove to be a major contender for 2003," commented team principal Andy Brown.

The first event for Mark will be the Rim of the World Rally in May.
