Primitive Racing Prepares for the Rim of the World!

Tigard, Oregon -- One of the the most challenging rallies on US soil takes place outside of Palmdale, CA next weekend (May 5th & 6th). The Primitive Racing Subaru Impreza USX will be there ready to tackle the challenge with 2.2 liters of turbocharged fury under the hood, a rugged DMS suspension to soak up the bumps, Silverstone tires to carve the corners, and a crew of rally veterans to keep it on the road.

The past week has been spent installing a new turbo transmission into the screaming yellow zonker after a heartwrenching failure at the Oregon Trail Rally. A new bigger intercooler and downpipe have also be installed bumping horsepower into the 275HP range. The team hopes to finish well here after a fine 6th overall finish last year.

"We have begun to feel some of the teething pains of fielding a powerful, open-class car which have lead to some DNF's, " says team owner Paul Eklund, "but we hope to see some top 3 finishes soon." "We were running near the front of the pack at Oregon Trail, and I don't see any reason that we can't pick up from that point here at Rim." The excellent handling and ability to power out of corners makes the Impreza USX a great choice for a tight and twisty rally such as the Rim of the World.

The team is sponsored by Royal Moore Subaru, Morrie's Subaru, T-Scandia Motors, Puffin Engineering, Primitive Racing and Taylor Made Labels. The Rim and Oregon Trail rallies will be featured on Speedvision.
