UNITED STATES RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP ANNOUNCES THE 21st ANNUAL PRESCOTT RALLY

Prescott, Arizona — Round 3 of the United States Rally Championship’s Pacific Division. The final qualifying round prior to the season finale at International Rally New York.

The organizing committee of the 21st annual Prescott Rally (October 3rd and 4th) is gearing up for this two day performance rally in the high desert rangelands of Central Arizona. Prescott has a storied history in mining, ranching and more recently, tourism and the Prescott Rally shares in this history. Competitors will transit through the historic mining town of Jerome and race across ranching land used for decades. Old narrow gauge railroad beds also are a part of the route as well as the historic farming community of Chino Valley.

This year’s event will feature 101 stage miles over the two day format with activities based at Tim’s Subaru and the Prescottonian Hotel in Prescott, Arizona. Sponsors for this mainstay southwestern event include Scott Roofing of Phoenix, Tim’s Subaru of Prescott along with the Subaru Western Region, The Prescottonian Hotel and Whiskey Row Screen Printing and Checkpoint Racing. Timing and Scoring will be provided by the California Rally Series.

Teams will be competing to qualify for the top spots in the United States Rally Championship and the tow subsidy for Pacific Division competitors attending the final round in New York. The top four AWD competitors will all be present at Prescott to battle for overall honors. Brian Scott, Jimmy Keeney, Mitch Williams and Jeff Register all have a strong shot at the overall win at Prescott. The 2WD top teams including Chuck Wilson and Kris Marciniak are deadlocked for the lead with Prescott determining the Pacific Division winner. George Doganis and Brian Hamblin have a mathematical chance but will be pushing hard for the event win in any case.
