It was announced at today's annual general meeting of The Canadian Association of Rallysport (CARS) that the 1998 running of the Rallye Perce-neige is cancelled. Organizors Jean Chevarier and Mario Collin tried very hard, but could not put a route together due to the freezing rain disaster in Eastern Canada. There is about 15 cm of solid ice on the roads that would have been used for the event. The cost to open the roads would have been too much. They also tried to find alternate roads, or and alternate date, but after much work, the decision to cancel the event for 1998 had to be made. --- Roger Sanderson VE3RKS President of Kitchener Waterloo Rally Club Phone: (519) 885-2122 Email: rsanders@ece.uwaterloo.ca URL: http://www.kw.igs.net/~rsanders Club URL: Club URL: http://www.kwrc.on.caL'adventure blanche: pour se faire plaisir!
