SANCTION

The 2005 MAINE WINTER RALLY is organized by a team of enthusiasts from New England with the grateful assistance of the Seven Islands Land Co. and the town of Rumford. The Rally will count toward the 2006 Rally America Eastern Regional Championship. The event will be conducted following the Rally America Rally Rules, as amended by these Supplementary Regulations. In general, it is a straightforward stage event with the least possible complications.

GENERAL

We will list in these Supps only changes or additions to the entry information that was available with the entry form.

Upon completion of Registration, competitors will receive one "book" that will contain all the information for the event. It will have maps, tulip routebook, stage notes and any other documents needed.

EXCEPTIONS TO RALLY RULES

All competitors will start with a one minute interval behind the preceding car.

SERVICE

All personnel directly associated with the competitors must sign the waiver!

Information on servicing, route and times will be in the driver's "book". Basically, you drive to the DOT Lot early in the morning and stay there for the day. One service, approximately 1 hour in length, will occur around noon, after SS2.

Trailers are NOT allowed in the DOT Lot; if you bring your trailer north, you MUST leave it across the road from the DOT Lot; see map in "the book".

DEAD END STAGE

Upon arrival at the FTC (of SS 1 and SS 3), you will be given an IDEAL START time for SS 2 (and SS 4). Continue ahead and follow marshals' instructions to park. The area is small so please co-operate. Upon arrival of the Course Closing and Sweep vehicles, we will be able to restart. Competitors MUST be ready to restart at their IDEAL START time.

ALL UNPAVED (DIRT) ROADS WITHIN 100 MILES OF RUMFORD ARE OFF LIMITS TO ALL COMPETITORS. THIS IS A SENSITIVE ISSUE AND ANY COMPETITORS SEEN ON ANY SUCH ROAD WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISQUALIFIED FROM THE EVENT!!

SPECTATORS

There will be a spectator area near the north end (start of SS 1/3). Spectators should park in the graveled (snow covered?) areas near the start of the stage. We will have them reasonably plowed, if necessary. Strict rules for spectating have been instituted. Please inform your crew and friends that spectating will ONLY be allowed in designated areas. If the spectators fail to follow the instructions of the marshals, we will not hesitate to STOP the stage, thus depriving everyone of the opportunity to see the cars compete. We hope that peer pressure will help everyone follow the rules. Marshals will be present to observe and supervise.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

If you encounter a "STOP" sign in the middle of the stage road (a white sign the size of a control board with red STOP letters and a red cross attached) at a spectator area, you are required to stop. This will indicate a problem with spectators and you will be informed how to proceed. (We would expect that you will continue following the route at transit speeds.)
