At 8:30am Car #1 Bill and Mac started to the first control of the River Valley Rally.
it was approx. 20 degrees and light powder snow had fallen. The first 50 miles of the
route was paved but the new fallen snow covered the roads.
At 9:30 Car #1 started on the Grafton Notch stage road, one plowed lane big enough to It
two snowmobilers side by side. The rally cars had to keep going. If one should get stuck,
you had to stop and help them to let you get by. Stories were good about the first time down
this stage road.

At 11:50 Car #1 started "Magalloway Plantation" stage loop a 30 mile section that was glare
ice covered with 2" of the fresh fallen snow. 10 T.S.D. controls were in this section.
Approx. 15 cars went poof in snow banks. Eventually
the competitors got out, before the sweep truck had to help. Even with all that Car #1 still
had 9 zeros out of 10 controls,

At 2:30 Car #1 started last stage road section in reverse direction of earlier in the day.
The road was snow and rutts from rally traffic. At a CAS of 30 no car made it through the stage
on time, but all cars made it again without help from the sweep truck.

At 3:11:26 Car #1 arrived at Control 38 on perfect rally time. The rally started and ended on time
with no claims. Scores were posted at 5:15 and awards followed. The hardest part was scoring the
adjustments due to weather conditions on the stages. Listening to the stories from the competitors
gave great examples of the sportsmanship and comraderie, who pulled who out the most!

The rally had 40 workers from Atlantic Driving School. Approx. 20 ex-students, all of whom made
it with out being stuck in the snow, too bad the rally drivers couldn't say that.
