The 1998 NEDIV PRO Rally Awards Banquet was held Saturday, January 16, 1999
near Reading, PA.
The event was graciously hosted by The Blue Mountain Region, SCCA as part of their annual awards ceremony.
After a hearty meal, the awards were presented by Divisional Steward, Lesley Suddard, with help from BMR Rally Chairman Dean Fry. The team of two time U2 Champions, Sylvester Stepniewski and Adam Pelc, picked up their first O4 win. In O2, Lesley Suddard received her third Drivers Championship, with Ben Greisler scoring his first Co-Drivers win. First time winner Scott Kreisler with his brother Keith (1997 O4 Driver Champion) as Co-Driver, took home the win in U2.
The banquet was very well attended by the North East Rally Community, with winners, family and friends coming from as far as Vermont. Among those present were the team of Noel Lawler (3rd O4 Driver) and Charlie Bradley (3rd 04 Co-Driver). Noel and Charley also finished 2nd overall in the National PRO Rally Championship for 1998, and will compete in several 1999 events driving the Libra Racing Hyundai Tiburon.
After the awards, plans for the 1999 schedule and the Ski Sawmill Rally school were discussed by the organizers, look for a complete 1999 calendar soon on this website.
In summary, a good time was had by all, 1998 was a very good year, and 1999 promises to be even better!
