On September 6-8, 2007, rally competitors from North America and the World will return to New York State for International Rally New York, a round of the U.S. Rally Championship. The entire 450-mile rally will be run in the southern Catskill Mountains, which is approximately 80 highway miles from New York City. This year’s event features a new headquarters town, Ellenville (which, in a previous era, hosted the historic Mount Cathalia Hillclimb). The rally will begin with a ceremonial start in Ellenville at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, and finish back in Ellenville at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Saturday. The route will feature approximately 100 miles of special stages (races against the clock on roads which are closed to non-rally cars), the first half on paved roads, the second half on dirt and gravel roads.
