September 6-8, 2007
Car-by-Car Results

(note: cars are listed in order by car number)

number, driver, co-driver, car, (team or sponsor), notes, finish overall & in class

1 Celsus Donnelly/Noel Gallagher
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 (Donnelly Contracting/Gallagher Development)
The car was short of power on Friday morning, due to ignition problems;
since the team needed points toward the championship, they elected not
to retire from the rally, but rather to miss some special stages while
the crew replaced components and “remapped” the computer; ran better on
Friday evening; missed some additional stages on Saturday
14th overall, 7th Open AWD – USRC
18th overall, 8th AWD – NYRC1
14th overall, 15th AWD – NYRC2

2 Seamus Burke/Eddie Fries
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 (Shamrock Building Systems)
Clearly the fastest team on Friday morning; 4th gear failed on Friday
afternoon, so they pressed on with the remaining gears, and remained
well in command of the rally.
1st overall, 1st Open AWD – USRC

3 Enda McCormack/Bernard Farrell
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6
Ran well on Friday – car was well set up for pavement; snatched second
in the first (of 2) NYRC regionals by 1 second; clutch failed on one of
the Saturday mid-day special stages in the Narrowsburg area; also had
transmission trouble, so that only gears 1-3 remained
2nd overall, 3rd Open AWD – USRC
2nd overall, 2nd AWD – NYRC1
5th overall, 4th AWD – NYRC2

4 Gerard Coffey/Dave Dooley
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 (Coffey Electrical)
Entered only the Friday regional; Coffey said that he was happy with the
roads; missed second place in the first NYRC regional event by 1 second.
3rd overall, 3rd AWD – NYRC1

5 Martin Donnelly/Stephen Duffy
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo (Eire Concrete)
“Soft” brake pedal on Friday afternoon; while the service crew was bleed-
ing the brake system at a Friday evening service stop, the brake pedal
snapped off, forcing the team to miss some special stages while they built
another one; restarted Saturday, and found the special stages very dusty;
hit something (a tree?) in the dust.
13th overall, 6th Open AWD – USRC
16th overall, 7th AWD – NYRC1
dnf overall, dnf AWD – NYRC2

6 Martin O'Flynn/Damian Treanor
Mitsubishi Eclipse Evo 1 (Borlin Construction)
Changed alternator at Friday evening service; hit tree on a Saturday morning
special stage when there was “no vision whatsoever” according to O’Flynn
11th overall, 5th Open AWD - USRC
17th overall, 1st Pre-Modern AWD – NYRC1
15th overall, 3rd Pre-Modern AWD – NYRC2

7 Maciej Przybysz/Constantine Mantopoulos
Subaru Impreza (Somerset Subaru)
Took an easy pace on Friday morning; picked up the pace considerably on
Friday afternoon to take a narrow win in the Friday regional event and hold
second overall in the national; hit tree on Saturday morning – Przybysz
admitted that they were going a little too fast at that point
dnf overall, dnf Open AWD - USRC
1st overall, 1st AWD – NYRC1
dnf overall, dnf AWD – NYRC2

8 Cyril Kearney/Dominik Jozwiak
Subaru Impreza (Kingdom Associates)
Went well on Friday; trouble with the dust on Saturday morning; broken rear
differential on Saturday, which the crew changed; won the second (of two)
NYRC regional events by 7 seconds.
2nd overall, 2nd Open AWD- USRC
5th overall, 5th AWD – NYRC1
1st overall, 1st AWD – NYRC2

9 Wojciech Okula/Adam Pelc
Subaru Impreza WRX (WO Construction)
Entered in the Saturday regional only; reported a stiff break pedal at mid-
day on Saturday morning; missed the regional win by 7 seconds.
2nd Overall, 2nd AWD – NYRC2

10 Fintan Seeley/Carrie Wilburn
Subaru WRX (The Porter House)
Went very well considering that this was only Seeley’s fourth rally, and the
car was not heavily modified; lost reverse gear three special stages before
the end of the day on Friday, but continued without it, and held fourth overall
at the overnight stop; had an “encounter” (as Seeley called it) with a tree on
Saturday morning, which changed the alignment (specifically camber) on the left
rear wheel, but the service crew adjusted it at the service stop on mid-day;
clutch and rear differential failure on Saturday afternoon
dnf overall, dnf Open AWD – USRC
4th overall, 4th AWD – NYRC1
dnf overall, dnf AWD – NYRC2

11 Arkadiusz Gruszka/Michal Chodan

was improving on every stage; found the Saturday special stages “dusty” but
took third in the day’s regional anyway
5th overall, 4th Open AWD – USRC
10th overall, 6th AWD – NYRC1
3rd overall, 3rd AWD – NYRC2

12 Michael Cosgrove/John O'Reilly
Mitsubishi Eclipse (Jim Charlton Inc/T&G Relocation/Murtys)
Car’s alternator failed on the next-to-last special stage on Friday, the service
crew changed it so that they could restart on Saturday; hit a rock on the Davis
Lake North special stage (12?), without serious damage; Cosgrove decided to pace
himself for a finish
10th overall, 1st Production AWD - USRC
7th overall, 2nd Pre-Modern AWD – NYRC1
8th overall, 1st Pre-Modern AWD – NYRC2

15 Hampton Bridwell/Josh Katinger
Ford Focus SVT
Slowed on the Friday morning special stages because they had not had time to
practice those; still 3rd-placed two-wheel-drive car on Friday; car ran fine on
Saturday, but they were unable to catch Listopad (car 17) or Menzo (car 331),
so Bridwell and Katinger decided to pace themselves and try to finish well;
moved to second in 2WD when Menzo’s hit car trouble
6th overall, 2nd 2WD, 1st Production 2WD - USRC
9th overall, 3rd 2WD – NYRC1
6th overall, 3rd 2WD – NYRC2

17 Rafal Listopad/Amy Feistel
VW Golf (Bergen Woodworks)
Took the lead in the 2WD category on Friday morning; Feistel said that Listopad
was driving a quick, clean event, and that the car was running well; on Saturday
the car suffered a broken front motor mount (and bolts which came loose twice),
so the service crew strapped the engine in place (it still had the side mounts),
and the team decided to try to nurse the car to the finish, which they did without
losing the 2WD category lead
4th overall, 1st 2WD category, 1st Open 2WD - USRC
6th overall, 1st 2WD – NYRC1

end, but the problem was apparently not repairable

12th overall, 5th 2WD – NYRC1

20 Michael Hall/Dave Stockdill
Mitsubishi Mighty Max (pickup)
Engine lacked power above 3,000 rpm on Friday, and the team was unable to solve
the problem before the end of the rally; transmission leaking oil on Friday evening;
hit large rock on Saturday afternoon, which damaged the skid plate, the clutch
housing, the co-driver’s door, and a rear spring mount
8th overall, 2nd Open 2WD – USRC
15th overall, 8th 2WD – NYRC1
7th overall, 2nd 2WD – NYRC2

system on Friday evening meant that Ferreira had trouble hearing Crescenti;
slowed on the last Friday stage because the spot lights were mis-aimed; on
Saturday morning, stopped on special stage 17 to render assistance to Cournane/Morand
(car 212), then continued in the rally

13th overall, 6th 2WD – NYRC1
dnf overall, dnf 2WD – NYRC2
