September 17, 2005 - Road Closure
Because of road work on Route 52 east of Jeffersonville that started last week and will continue until mid-October, the transit road section from TC 19 to TC 20 has been rerouted via Route 144 and Route 143 between Jeffersonville and White Sulphur Springs. This lengthens the transit distance by 0.6 mile. A corrected Itinerary, reflecting also some other very minor changes in mileages, as well as a new map of Liberty area have been published.

August 16, 2005 - Location of Ceremonial Start
Over the last three and a half months, the organizer of the event spent a lot of effort in negotiating the contemplated Ceremonial Start in New York City. In the end, these negotiations were not successful. The major obstacle to the Ceremonial Start in New York City is the amount of fees requested by the City of New York. For more desirable locations these fees are a multiple of the current total event budget. In addition, our proposal was in conflict with other events already scheduled for these locations. Finally, the City of New York would have imposed a limit on the number of entrants who would have been allowed to participate. For these reasons, the Ceremonial Start of the International Rally New York 2005 will take place at the Monticello Raceway, a beautiful, modern facility with all indoor seating for rally spectators that is also the location of the Mighty M Gaming Super Special Stage. |
