The International Rally New York 2005 will take place on September 29 through October 1, 2005. Registration of competitors will start in the evening on Wednesday, September 28 and will continue until Friday morning, September 30.
Technical inspection of competition vehicles and reconnaissance will be conducted the whole day on Thursday and on Friday morning. Competitors will receive numerical stage notes at no additional charge together with a tulip route book. Pace notes are allowed.
The Ceremonial Start will take place at noon on Friday at Monticello Raceway, a beautiful, modern facility with all indoor seating for rally spectators. All special stages will be located in spectacular Sullivan County, New York in the southern Catskill Mountains in an area only 90 miles northwest of New York City. Rally competitors will return to Mighty M Gaming Super Special Stage at Monticello Raceway two more times over two days of competition for the total of five Super Special Stages to be enjoyed by rally spectators.
There will be 102 miles of competition over 25 special stages, including five Super Special Stages, which will include all the stages in Narrowsburg that were used by Rally New York 2005 in April. In addition, there will be new gravel and tarmac stages kindly provided by the Town of Tusten, Town of Liberty and the management of Ten Mile River Scout Reservation. Almost half of the stage mileage will be tarmac. Most of the servicing of rally vehicles will be done at the service area at Lander’s Campground in Narrowsburg with an additional service area in Liberty on Saturday afternoon and optional service at
Monticello Raceway. The total length of the event will be 365 miles.
An overnight Parc Ferme will be at Lander’s Campground in Narrowsburg on Friday. A Parc Expose and a Ceremonial Restart will take place in Narrowsburg on Saturday morning. The event will end with the last Super Special Stage, Ceremonial Finish and fireworks at Monticello Raceway on Saturday night.
The International Rally New York 2005 is part of the United States Rally Championship. It is a FIA internationally listed event that is sanctioned by USAC and presented by NASA. The whole length of the event also counts toward the Eastern States Rally Championship.
