Leicester, NY -- Finger Lakes Region SCCA presented it's first RallyCross on Sunday November 12, 2000 in Leicester, New York. We had a wonderful response with 33 drivers in 24 cars. Five runs were completed, providing for exciting competition in 5 classes (there were no entrants in the sixth class).

Class winners were:

    Bruce Perry -   Rally O4	5.60 minutes for 5 runs
    Karl Scheible - Rally U2	5.94
    Tina Reeves -   Stock O2	6.24
    Randy Zimmer -  Stock O4	5.82
    Roy Hopkins -   Stock U2	5.95

I am sure that entrants and workers will have stories to tell. From the Scoring Room everything went extremely well. Times were clearly provided via radio for each start and finish and each run's scores were posted within a few minutes after that run ended. Two scoring inquiries were submitted after the fifth run and have been corrected in the final results. Neither correction affected class or overall finishing positions.

Special thanks to Beth Perry for her outstanding hospitality and her help everywhere it was needed; to the workers who stood out in the cold (Mark Sampson, Mike Liggett, Barbara Lissow, Mike Toombs, Brian Reeves, Bill Laitenberger), to Alane Perry for assistance with registration, and to Amy Ingalls for her help with scoring and registration.

We look forward to seeing you in 2001 when we hope to present a series of three or four events at Perry's Park. There was considerable discussion during the day of other locations where we might develop courses, so more venues may become available. Due to the nature of the ground, it is highly unlikely that we will be able to use Perry's Park until at least late May. With the summer a very busy time in the race-solo-rally programs, we expect the 2001 events to begin in late summer or early fall.
