Burlingtoncars.com RallyCross to Run Sunday, October 6th

Essex Junction, VT -- Announcing the Burlingtoncars.com Rallycross sponsored by Burlingtoncars.com and Vermont Sportscar. This is an SCCA-sanctioned New England Region Championship event. Burlingtoncars.com and Vermont Sportscar will both have displays on site.

Take a look at Burlingtoncars.com Rallycross website

Date: October 6th

Where: Champlain Valley Fairgrounds, Essex Junction, VT (directions below)

Schedule: Registration begins at 7:00, Tech at 7:30, First car off at 9:30

Costs: $35 for SCCA members; $45 for non-SCCA members

Contact: Rick Swan - 802-849-6128 - E-mail: rswan@together.net

What you need to know:

Please pre-register - we expect a huge turn-out. Go to the website for a pre-reg form - don't send it to me, but to Rick - he's the guy that has put this together !!

We'll have a very long course compared to what we're used to - this means that we'll be running at least 2 cars simultaneously so that we can get the proper seat time in for all of you.

We'll need workers !! Please contact Rick if you'd like to volunteer or show up by 9:00am

Competitors cars must be safe and pass tech inspection. Unregistered cars will be allowed to compete provided they are trailered in and muffled (no, this doesn't mean that registered cars can be UN-muffled). Helmets must meet the safety requirements of the SCCA Rallycross program.

Trailer access is not a problem. Food and fuel are available within walking distance.

DO NOT SPEED IN THE TOWN OR ON THE FACILITY. The Essex town police are very good at catching you and they'll be patrolling at no cost to the organizers :):). Take my word for it...(that would be Rick's word, I've never been stopped for speeding...err..in Essex, VT...)

WORKER AND SPECTATORS VERY WELCOME! This is a Fairgrounds so there is plenty of good places to view from. Workers will be badly needed. This is a huge facility that will likely lead to a long course layout. There's a grand stand, so bring the whole family!!

Directions: Essex Jct. is next-door to Burlington, VT - in the northern part of the state.

>From the South:

Head North on Interstate 89 to Exit 15 in Burlington. Head East on Rt. 15 for approximately 4 miles. There will be signs guiding you to the Fairgrounds. As you approach, the Fairgrounds will be on your left and there will be a sign identifying the Champlain Valley Expo. Head in the first gate (likely the only one open anyway; Gate "B" I believe) and follow the road to the back of the facility where you will be guided from there.

>From the East:

From St. Johnsbury, VT, follow Rt. 2 till you join Rt. 15. Take Rt. 15 west to Essex Junction. From the "5" corners in Essex Jct., go straight as if headed to Interstate 89. There will be signs guiding you to the Fairgrounds or Expo. After "5" corners, Gate "B" should be around a half mile or so on your right. From the gate follow the directions indicated above.

>From the North:

Get off at Exit 16 of Interstate 89. Head South down Rt. 7 into Winooski. This may be tough for trailers. In the center of Winooski, turn left at the Post office and head toward Essex (this may be Rt. 15 at this point). Head East on Rt. 15 (you'll pass under Interstate 89 and go by Exit 15). Continue East on Rt. 15 and follow the directions indicated above.

>From the West:

You get to find your own way across Lake Champlain :) Head for Burlington and Interstate 89. Contact Rick Swan. He can help you out.
