WDC Region Announces 2001 RallyCross Season Sponsorship
The Washington DC Region SCCA is pleased to announce that Manassas Dodge/KIA/Subaru of Manassas, VA is the WDCR RallyCross Series sponsor for 2001. In addition to supporting all six planned WDCR RallyCross events this year, they will host a WDCR General Membership Meeting at their dealership on 17 April 2001. The new Subaru WRX will be showcased; Mark Williams, the 2002 Canadian Association of Rallysport (CARS) Overall Co-Driver Champion, will be present to answer questions, sign autographs, and give away free Subaru rally posters.
The WDC Region will conduct its first RallyCrosss event on 17 February at an exciting new venue in Orange, VA. The site is a 145 acre farm offering a clubhouse for driver's meetings, observation tower and acres of grass fields. A second event at the same location is planned for 24 March.
The course layout will be simple to follow along cut grass roads with a few cone gates. In addition to course maps, we will begin issuing route books of the course so teams will be able to practice communications and co-drivers can call instructions. Snow is possible and would make this an exciting and challenging event.
The entry fees have been reduced from last season. T-shirts will be available. Once again, we’ll have a food vendor and porta-potties on site. Prizes will be awarded and 2001 NEDIV RallyCross season championship details announced later.
