Montréal, Québec — Quebec driver Antoine L’Estage (of St-Jean-sur- Richelieu) won this weekend’s Pacific Forest Rally, the fourth of six rounds in the 2013 Canadian Rally Championship. Accompanied by Welsh co-driver Craig Parry, the Rockstar team driver logged his third consecutive Canadian victory this season by winning a rally that he lead from start to finish.
« We achieved our goal : to win! PFR is an event that has always been good to me and winning here at the 2013 edition is very important because it marks my third victory in a row in Canada this season and it brings me to within six points of my closest rival for the title, with two rallies to go this year » indicated Antoine, who, in ten years of participating at PFR in the province of British Columbia, now holds an impressive record of six wins, four second places, and no DNFs.
For this rally, the Rockstar team welcomed Welshman Craig Parry as co-driver, an experience that was crowned with success, as explains L'Estage : « things with Craig were perfect ». The Rockstar driver adds : « We took the lead as of the first stage, finishing Friday with a big enough lead to just manage the situation on the second day. I still attacked pretty hard in the first of the long stages on Saturday night, which was a good decision given the fact that a flat tire slowed us down on the very last stage of the day but our lead was enough to maintain first place. Our Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X was perfect, without a single mechanical worry – it’s really a great win for the entire team ». This success enables Mitsubishi to take the top spot of the Manufacturers’ Championship leaderboard, with a five-point lead.
The next outing in the Canadian Rally Championship will take place at the beginning of November, for the Rocky Mountain Rally, also held in British Columbia. Before that, Antoine L’Estage and the Rockstar team will contest the Lake Superior Pro Rally, the last of the 2013 Rally America series, taking place on October 19th.
Antoine L’Estage holds five North American championship titles (2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012), five Canadian titles (2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012), one American title (2010), and fortyone overall victories in Canada and the US.
Antoine L’Estage participates in the 2013 Rally America and Canadian Rally Championships with the support of Rockstar Energy Drink, Fenetres Concerto, Mitsubishi Canada, Yokohama Tires, Drenth Motorsport Gearboxes, Énergie Cardio, Formica Group, Alpinestars, VP Racing Fuels, Exe-Tc Suspensions, Driver's Edge Autosport, and Libra Racing.
