PASADENA, CA — David Sterckx (Belgium) and Karen Jankowski (California) of David Sterckx Rally Sport Team, fresh off of their Super Production win at Oregon Trail rally, have a new sponsor joining them when they compete at STPR rally June 1-2. The company, Ardeca Lubricants from Belgium, recently launched their products into the USA market. Since Sterckx is also from Belgium and like Ardeca a relative new comer to the USA racing scene, the collaboration has a great synergy.

Sterckx was asked to drive the Ardeca Lubricant sponsored Mitsubishi Evo at the first round of the Rally America Rallycross Championship. The event which took place at New Jersey Motorsport Park in May, was David’s very first rallycross event but he proved to be a natural winning the 4wd Limited class. “It was so great to win my very first Rallycross event and even better to be able to do it with Ardeca Lubricants. I hope I will be able to do a lot more of these types of events in the future,” explained Sterckx.

As a result of their successful first outing Ardeca Lubricants has decided to join the team in the rest of the Rally America rally championship events this season. The next event for the team is STPR Rally June 1-2 in Wellsboro Pennsylvania, which is known to have very fast roads that can also prove to be very tricky.

Rally legend Doug Shepherd will be joining the team for STPR to assist with tire strategy and service. Having won this event many times, Shepherd will be a great asset to the team. “STPR roads are some of the fastest most technical ones in the championship. This event is always a tough one on cars and teams so attrition is always high,” states Jankowski. “The points battle for the Super Production championship is so close especially for the top 3 of Hanson, O’Sullivan, and our team all separated by just three points. Plus Ramana Langaman has entered and is consistently in the top 3 overall here so it will be one heck of a fight!”
