PASADENA, CA — David Sterckx (Belgium) and Karen Jankowski (California) of David Sterckx Rally Sport Team announces new sponsor French Kiss apparel for the 2012 season which is based out of Brussels and recently has expanded into the USA market. “French Kiss apparel is getting ready to launch in the USA market and I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the brand than to sponsor Sterckx Rally Sport Team this season,” explained owner Gregg Crickx. After the team experienced multiple car issues at 100 Acre Wood rally in February that eventually forced them to retire, crew chief Don Jankowski has identified and fixed the issues. The team had a chance to practice last weekend in the El Mirage Desert and are confident afterwards that the car and team are raring to go for next weekend’s Oregon Trail Rally. “Our Subaru was built from scratch this year and we experienced a few teething issues at our first two events, it happens with new cars. Since there were several months in between events though it gave us time to fix the issues we were having and make improvements as well. I am really looking forward to Oregon Trail Rally especially after last weekend’s testing. It will be the perfect event for our new sponsor French Kiss apparel to be joining us,” stated Sterckx. Oregon Trail Rally is the third event in the Rally America Championship and takes place in urban Portland, OR and through the Mt. Hood farmlands outside the city. With fast stretches combined with twisting foothill runs this rally is always packed with speed and excitement. This will be David’s first time at the event but since this was Karen’s first event back in 2006 this will be her fourth time competing there. The team competed in the Mt Hood rally last year, which uses many of the same roads as Oregon Trail, and finished in the top 5. Now with several more rallies under their belt, a new faster car, and additional support from their sponsors French Kiss, AlphaSTAR (http://alphastarcorp.com), Genoa 5, and MCQ Composites the team is expecting a great event.
