Jardevall Volvo Shows Promise,
but Finishes Poorly at Ojibwe Forests

BEMIDJI, MINNESOTA -- Carl Jardevall and co-driver Amity Trowbridge finished well down in the overall standings at the Sports Car Club of America's Ojibwe Forests ProRally after various problems slowed their Nordic Motors Volvo 740 Turbo in the Friday night stages. However, they overcame the odds on Saturday to finish, showing that they could be competitive.

This was Jardevall's first trip to the Northern Minnesota rally, and he was hoping for a good finish. Overheating and suspension problems caused the team to slow, and at one point even stop on a stage, so they were nearly 30 minutes behind the Group 5 leaders after the Friday night stages.

The Nordic Motors crew made an extra effort to correct all of the problems prior to the start of the Saturday stages. As a result, the Volvo was able to run competitive times with the class leaders, and Jardevall even set fastest time among the Group 5 competitors on two of the nine stages! Counting only the Saturday stages, Jardevall was second among those in Group 5. The next event for the Nordic Motors Volvo will be Wild West ProRally in Shelton, Washington, the weekend of September 15-16. Jardevall says he expects to do quite well there, competing for the win overall as well as for Group 5.

Nordic Motors is an independent Volvo and Saab repair facility, owned by Carl Jardevall and located in San Carlos, California. Co-driver Amity Trowbridge lives in Olympia, Washington, and is employed by the State of Washington.
