Waterloo, ONTARIO -- The Two AM Rallysport racing team is 100% prepped and ready to go for the first Rally of the year this weekend (Feb. 9-11) in Maniwaki, Quebec at the Rallye Perce-Niege. This rally brings the team full circle, as Perce-Neige was the First Rally for the team one year ago. After choosing to skip the season opener in Quebec City in favour of more car preparation and testing Two AM Rallysport is now ready to take on the snow and ice.
With 46 teams pre-registered for the event and the forecast calling for freezing rain it will make for some tough competition. "The popularity of the sport is really expanding and we've got more and better prepared cars in our class than before" says driver/owner Andrew Miller, adding " I love to see the sport grow and I welcome the competition". Trying to predict the road conditions will be tough. This winter has seen everything from 30 cm dumps of snow to recent freezing rain. Team mechanic Paul Moisse had this to say "We're bring 4 sets of tires all of different types to try and get the best fit for the situation. But we'll never know if we got it right until they are out there driving." This year the team intends to do the full national season, which includes events in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta. With terrain and weather varying greatly during the 11 month rally season Two Am Rallysport is in for an interesting year.
The Subaru Canadian Rally Championship, which consists of 8 events, runs from February to November. Two AM Rallysport competes in the P3 class with help from its sponsors Volkswagen Waterloo, Dave's Tire Discounter, Frisco Auto Parts and AM Innovations Inc.
