Portland, OREGON -- Primitive Racing's cube van departed this morning for Chattanooga, Tennessee and the Cherokee Trails Rally which begins next week. It will make several stops along the way over the 2500 mile trip. Captain R.Dale Kraushaar is piloting the 15,000lb juggernaut across the country.
"The team is getting pretty excited about this rally," states owner Paul Eklund, "it looks like a lot of great teams have entered and we're glad to be one of them. This will get our team some early season points and hopefully help Subaru win the manufacturer's championship."
Primitive Racing has finished 4th in the open class in its last 2 ProRally events and can add a 3rd overall (Wild West '99) and a 6th overall (Rim '99) to its list of National finishes with the screaming yellow Subaru USX. Eklund won the co-driver's National Championship in Production GT class in 1998 and the SCCA Solo II driver's Championship for E-stock in both 1998 and 1999 driving a Toyota.
The team is currently constructing a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX for Group N to begin competition this summer at the Maine Forest Rally. Sponsorship opportunities for this new entry still exist. It is a privateer endeavour, but the car will be a top runner designed and built by rally professionals with the assistance of an SAE engineer. Contact Primitive Enterprises, Inc for further information.
Primitive Racing is a proven team that has won multiple National Championships and demonstrated the depth of knowledge to consistently do well at the events entered. The team also controls logistics to consistently get cars and people to events and to do so within a reasonable budget. Preparation behind the scene is the key to winning any series. We have also been quite successful at gaining exposure for our current sponsors: Royal Moore Subaru, Silverstone Rally Tyres, Drummond Motorsports Shocks, and website www.subaru.net
