PHOENIX, Arizona, USA -- AV Sport and the Air Force Reserve took 3rd overall at the Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb at the weekend, maintaining their status as the top privateer team in the SCCA ProRally series.
Tim O’Neil and Alex Gelsomino, in the Air Force Reserve/Ford SVT Focus, made a fantastic run on the 12.4-mile stage that climbs the 14,110-foot peak, finishing 3rd overall.
Shane Mitchell and Paul Donnelly also did a good job of attacking the mountain, capturing 3rd in Group N, and are now only one point behind the Group N class leader.
"This is one of the most challenging events of the year, requiring a lot of technical modifications to the cars. For Tim to finish on the podium is a great achievement for the team," commented team boss Andy Brown.
