Rocket Rally Racing Off to Washington State

Vancouver, BC -- Things are sure to get a bit wild this weekend for Rocket Rally Racing. The British Columbia-based team will be in Shelton, Washington for the Wild West ProRally, the seventh of nine rounds in the SCCA ProRally Championship. The team will be running hard on the 14 gravel-road stages in order to secure top class spot in this year's championship series.

The team is currently in first place in its Production GT class, thanks to a strong showing at the event in Bemidji, Minnesota last month. The Minnesota event put the team in a tight battle with Steve Gingras and Bill Westrick. Gingras's Eagle Talon defeated the normally aspirated Rocket Rally Subaru Impreza by just 12 one-hundredths of a minute. "Our strong finish there was fairly important for our standing in the series, because the race for first place in the GT championship is so tight," said Patrick Richard, Rocket Rally Driver.

Rocket Rally Racing encourages all fans to capture that tight race by entering the Photographer's Contingency Program, in which photographers who submit the best action shots of the Rocket Rally Car win cash prizes of up to $100. This contest is open to both amateurs and professionals alike. "We're really pleased with all the entries we've been receiving and with the strong response to this contest. The shots have been great," said Nathalie Richard, Rocket Rally Boss. "Being a 3-hour drive from Vancouver, Wild West is our home event, so we anticipate a large number of entries. Keep them coming!" Entries should be emailed to photos@rocketrally.com.

In addition to leading its class in the SCCA ProRally Championship, the team holds top spot in its class in the Subaru Canadian Rally Championship and the North American Rally Cup. Rocket Rally Racing is supported by Specialty Subaru of North Vancouver, DMS Shock Absorbers, SPD Tuning Service and Dragon Eyewear. Wild West ProRally will be shown on Speedvision in conjunction with the Prescott Forests ProRally on October 27 at 8 p.m. and midnight (EST).
