Olympia, Washington -- Paul Eklund with co-driver Dave Jameson will tackle the rough and wild Prescott Forest Rally the weekend of October 2-3. The team, driving their AWD Subaru Impreza USX, hopes to add yet another podium finish to its string of successes this summer.
Fresh from a SOLO II (time trials) National Championship in Topeka, Kansas, team driver Eklund is shooting for an overall win in his home state of Arizona. Born in Phoenix, Eklund has a long history with dirt roads in the desert. The Thunderlizard logo used by Primitive Racing was derived from southwestern Indian lore.
The team service vehicle will leave Portland, Oregon at 5:00am Thursday morning with crew members Vance Walker and Jason Grahn behind the wheel. These two will make the 1350+ mile trek (each way!). Hairpin Racing will also be leaving at that time with the Hairpin/Morries Subaru Impreza PGT car. Team headquarters will be at the Best Western Prescottonian. Photo opportunities with the cars will be available Friday at about 5:30pm.
Also note that team Primitive will be flying to Ireland immediately after the Prescott event to observe The Donegal Harvest Rally (featuring current US Series leaders Noel Lawler and Charles Bradley) and to meet with suppliers ScoobySport and LEDA Suspensions in England.
