SHELTON, WA -- Rocket Rally Racing celebrated its one-year anniversary in ProRally with a victory - it's third so far this season. Taking the Production GT win at Wild West ProRally, held September 14 to 16 in Shelton, Washington, the team finished sixth overall, missing fifth place by just 13 seconds.
The team drove all out for the many friends and fans who'd travelled from Vancouver, B.C. for the event. "Although we didn't have any real class competition, we didn't want to let up - we kept on pushing. And, for the first time ever, we recorded the fastest stage times on two stages. The stage, run twice, was a scary, steep, six-mile downhill run with 100-foot drops on the edge of the road," said Patrick Richard, Rocket Rally Driver. "The roads were gnarly, and tricky. It was like Rim of the World ProRally, but at high speed. We really gave the car's shocks a good workout. Even so, the car ran smoothly."
With only two events remaining in the series, winning this event greatly helps Richard's chances for taking the SCCA Production GT Driver's Championship and propels co-driver Ben Bradley back into the chase for the co-driver's championship after he missed two events earlier in the season. "Getting these points was crucial for both of our championships. We wanted to push, but were also careful to stay on the road. I'm just glad the strategy paid off," said Bradley.
Wild West ProRally will be televised throughout North America several times on Speedvision, beginning October 27 at 8 p.m. (ET)
Rocket Rally Racing is supported by Specialty Subaru of North Vancouver, DMS Shock Absorbers, SPD Tuning and Dragon Eyewear.
