Vancouver, BC -- With its win at Wild West ProRally in mid-September in Shelton, Washington, Rocket Rally Racing clinched the Production GT Manufacturer's Championship for Subaru of America in the SCCA ProRally Championship. The team secured the spot for Subaru with two events out of nine still remaining in the season.
The B.C.-based team will be at Rally of the Voyageurs in Parry Sound, Ontario this weekend trying to replicate its stateside success. A class win from the team will clinch the Production GT Manufacturer's Championship for Subaru of Canada in the Subaru Canadian Rally Championship.
"Scoring more manufacturer's points overall for Subaru in the SCCA ProRally Championship than any other team this season has been very satisfying," stated Nathalie Richard, Rocket Rally Boss. "It's pretty amazing what this car can do," says Pat Richard, Rocket Rally Driver. "It used to be my daily driver. Our three Production GT wins and a strong second place finish demonstrate that this car can be competitive with anything else in the North American marketplace."
Rocket Rally Racing contests the North American Rally Championships with a stock Subaru Impreza RS, running against four-wheel drive turbo-charged cars in the Production GT class. Production GT rules require the competing vehicles to be identical to vehicles available at North American dealerships, except for safety gear additions and suspension modifications.
Rocket Rally Racing is sponsored by Specialty Subaru of North Vancouver, DMS Shock Absorbers, SPD Tuning Service and Dragon Eyewear.
