Sacramento, California -- The Jagged Edge Motorsports team of Sacramento California has ended the 2004 SCCA Pro Rally season with an early crash at the Ojibwe Forest Rally in Bemidji Mn.
Sans Thompson, Driver and Craig Marr Co-Driver ended their season on the last corner of the first special stage at the Ojibwe Forest Rally. "Everything was going perfect says Sans until the left rear of the car just nicked a tree which spun us around, up onto the nose and over onto the top. Not a bad crash but more damage than we can fix before Colorado in 3 weeks"
This was Craigs first time back into a car in about 20 years. As Craig exited the car Craig said," Well, I quit last time after an accident so I guess its only fitting that I start back with one".
"This has been a very difficult and frustrating year" states Sans, "likely the worst one I have ever had in 30 some years of racing , hopefully it is all behind us now and we can concentrate on 2005 and winning a National Championship. It was just bad luck, I never thought it was going over, both Craig and I were looking forward to a good race and a top finish, Craig was right up to speed and everything was going along great, actually if it had of rolled over one more time we would have made it thru the timing lights and actually would have had a respectable stage time"
"I think what we are going to do" continues Sans "is to get this car home and repaired while we finialise our plans for 2005 and get a new car designed and built for the first event in Januray. I dont think its worth it to repair this car for the remainder of the year but instead get a head start on next year, fix this car and either sell it or run it as a second car for someone else. We hope to make an announcement on our 2005 plans in the next few weeks".
