Waterloo, Ontario -- Yokohama Tire Canada and Two AM Rallysport team up for the third year in a row to take on the winter rally season with a proven rally winning combination. The team heads to Minden Ontario the weekend to compete in the Subaru Snowy Safari Rally, an all night driving test down some of the twistiest back roads in Ontario. This year the team will be on Yokohama's New Premium ice and snow radial, the ICE GUARD 10, with a silica and Zeruma agents that enhances tread flexibility for exceptional overall traction.
Team owner/driver Andrew Miller will be teaming up with a new co-driver this year, former two-wheel drive champion and former rival Louis Cabardos. It's a new pairing that puts two of Ontario's top 2WD competitors in the same vehicle. Louis had this to say, "I've won the championship a couple of times as a driver and always considered Andrew on of my toughest competitors. So when I decided to take a turn in the co-driver's seat and was looking for a fast ride, Andrew was my first call."
This year the team will once more be using their New MINI Cooper S to compete in an event whose entry list is dominated by all wheel drive cars such as Subaru and Audi. Miller comments, "We've rallied a 2WD car before and have been quite successful, and with the Yokohama tires the new MINI handles like it's riveted to the road, so I'm confident we'll continue to beat the heavier AWD Subaru's". The team has good reason to be confident as between them they have more than 20 top 5 finishes most of which are out right wins.
Ten hours of overnight competitive driving and 60 competitive teams await the team this weekend. The rally marks Two AM Rallysport's first competitive effort for the year and will be followed up by the granddaddy of all winter rallies the Subaru Ontario Winter Rally on February 21.
