Waterloo, Ontario -- The Two AM Rallysport racing team is 100% prepped and ready to go for the first round of the Ontario Performance Rally Championship (OPRC) taking place this weekend (Feb. 11-13) in Manawaki, Quebec.
The newly assembled Volkswagen Golf and the newly formed alliance between driver Andrew Miller and co-driver Martyn Appleford are set on making a good showing for their first event together. With 44 teams pre-registered for the event, it should make for some hot competition.
"We're ready to go. Six months of preparation and building the car and it's been ready for almost two weeks now. Now I'm just waiting until Thursday when I can load up the service truck and head out," said driver/owner Andrew Miller underscoring the level of preparation this team is dedicated to putting in. He adds, "equipment preparation is key to success in this sport; we are intent on doing it right."
The first round of the Ontario Performance Rally Championship (paradoxically taking place in Quebec) pits teams against each other in timed runs down previously unseen forest roads. In February, the added elements of snow, ice and bitter cold will conspire to make this the most challenging of racing formats.
The Ontario Performance Rally Championship, which consists of 6 events, runs from February to November. Two AM Rallysport competes in the Production Sport class with help from its sponsors Volkswagen Waterloo, Dave's Tire Discounter and AM Innovations Inc.
