Gaylord, Michigan -- The Best Western Alpine Lodge in Gaylord, MI is the newest sponsor for the Widget Rally Team and will provide lodging for its entire crew at the Sno*Drift Rally next January. "We chose the Alpine Lodge because of the friendliness of their staff and the quality of their accomodations," noted Denise McMahon, Widget's Team Manager, who made all the arrangements.

The team's principal driver, Leon Styles, added "We're happy that our whole crew can stay in a place as nice as the Alpine Lodge. Since we're running a two-car team this year, logistics are much more critical to our success. The staff at the Best Western just made things a little easier for us. We've already begun promoting the hotel to other rallyists, many of which, like us, will travel a long way to race at the Sno*Drift rally." The Widget team is based in southern California.

Julie Kettlewell, Sales & Marketing Director for the BW Alpine Lodge, recognized the value of promoting their hotel through racing. "This is the first time we have sponsored a racing team, and we are pleased to be affiliated with the Widget Rally Team. Racing has become such a large spectator sport in recent years, and we certainly look forward to being a part of it all," remarked Kettlewell. "It is my understanding that the Widget team has received a good deal of press of late, and we hope to see Widget in the forefront on a regular basis. The Sno*Drift ProRally is the first in the 2004 national championship series sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America. The Widget Rally Team plans to compete in the entire 2004 ProRally series as well as in other selected events.
