WCC Provides Satellite Phones to Widget Rally Team
Firm Offers Discounts to Widget Fans

Thousand Oaks,California -- WCC Global Satellite Communications, a provider of satellite phones for travelling businessmen, outdoorsmen, and anyone else working or playing in remote areas, is pleased to announce a special promotional offer for fans of the Widget Rally Team. With your first Widget rental, WCC will throw in either a mobile magnetic antenna (as used on the team's race cars) or a data connection kit which allows you to link to the internet or e-mail via the satellite phone. The Widget Team relies on these satellite phones at races all around the country because of the phone's ruggedness, reliability, fidelity, and performance.

"These phones were invaluable to us at our last two rallies," reported codriver John Dillon. "Our sport takes us places where cell phones are completely useless, yet we were able to communicate with the crew and let them know what was going on with the car, things we'll need when we make our 'pit stops,' and even how the competition is doing. We were also able to talk with the media between stages so they could get up-to-the-minute information about how the rally was going."

Driver Leon Styles echoed those sentiments. "On the first stage of the Sno*Drift Rally last January in Michigan, we discovered an engine management problem because of the extremely cold weather. Thanks to WCC's phones, we were able to contact our crew chief. By the time we pulled into service, he'd already worked up a new 'map' for the engine computer, after which the car ran much better."

The phones haven't helped only the Widget Team, but others as well. Styles continues, "At the Oregon Trail Rally, we loaned our WCC phone to a competitor so they could solve a navigation issue, after which they went on to finish first overall. Ours is a friendly sport where we all help one another. WCC was a part of not only our success, but of the success of Pat [Richard] and his sister Nathalie."

No matter where you are in the world, as long as you've got a clear view of the sky you'll be able to stay in touch. Using the WCC data kit you can even access the web and check e-mail. "There's something comforting about knowing you can reach someone even from the most distant parts of the country," commented Styles.

WCC's Widget Rally rental program allows users to rent satellite equipment at weekly rates and pay for minutes they use at a fraction of what long distance roaming calls cost. Plus, rental customers have access to WCC's live 24-hour customer care support for technical questions.

You can download the rental agreement (an Excel spreadsheet) from www.WidgetRacing.com/sponsors/wcc/widget_phone_rental.xls or download the special offer brochure (a PDF file) by pointing your web browser to www.WidgetRacing.com/sponsors/wcc/widget_phone_info..pdf.

"Whether you're a serious outdoor sportsman like us who needs to keep in touch with the world, or a business traveller who frequently finds himself in remote areas, you'll find tremendous value in satellite phones from WCC Global Satellite Communications," said Dillon. "Tell 'em Widget sent ya!"

About the Sport
Rallying is the ultimate team motorsport where street-licensed cars are raced at high speed on dirt trails with two people in the car, a driver behind the wheel and a codriver describing every bend in the road. Competitors are not allowed to pre-run the roads so they are racing "blind," navigating from a route book provided just hours prior to the event. Cars can easily reach speeds well above 100 MPH as they snake between trees and along the edges of cliffs in this sport of strength and stamina.

Seven events remain on the 2004 SCCA ProRally calendar. After the Subaru Rim of the World Rally in Lancaster, CA the team heads east to events in Pennsylvania, Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, and Michigan. The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is also part of the championship. The Widget's season concludes with the Ramada Express International Rally which takes place in December in and around the Grand Canyon.
