Colorado Springs, Colorado -- The Le Baron Hotel will host the Widget Rally Team and rally fans for the 82nd running of the Falken Tire Pikes Peak Hill Climb on June 26. In addition this full service hotel (located just 3 blocks from downtown) will offer special discounts to the team's race fans. To take advantage of the lower rates, simply call the hotel toll- free at 1.800.477.8610 and ask for "the Widget rate." The hotel's web site can be found at www.LeBaronColo.com.
"We're excited to once again race up Pikes Peak," said team driver Leon Styles, "but this year's schedule is a bit more challenging. We're looking to refreshing ourselves at the Le Baron at the end of the day."
The Widget Rally Team currently leads the national Open class championship of the Sports Car Club of America's ProRally Series Presented by Hot Wheels. Pikes Peak is the fifth round of the championship and marks the half way point for the series.
"Our team manager Denise McMahon once again came through for the team," stated John Dillon, codriver for Styles. "She's done an awesome job for us. Our entire team, including the second car team of Nick Korpal and Neil Smith, our technical director Chad DiMarco, and crew man Frank Brown will be enjoying the facilities."
"The Le Baron is a full service hotel, complete with meeting rooms, swimming pool, spa, fitness room, and Rileyâ's Restaurant and Bar," reported MaryLynn Ballard, the hotel's Director of Sales & Marketing. "We know the guys are going to have a grueling schedule; we're glad to offer them a place to relax at the end of the day."
About the Sport
Rallying is the ultimate team motorsport where street-
licensed cars are raced at high speed on dirt trails with
two people in the car, a driver behind the wheel and a
codriver describing every bend in the road. Competitors
are not allowed to pre-run the roads so they are racing
"blind," navigating from a route book provided just hours
prior to the event. Cars can easily reach speeds above 100
MPH as they snake between trees and along the edges of
cliffs in this sport of strength and stamina.
