Somewhere in Middle America --
Rally America Eastern Regional Rally Open Class Champions for the past three seasons, Last Ditch Racing will compete at Round 2 of the Rally America 2010 Championship, the 100 Acre Wood Rally in Salem, Missouri on 2/26-27.
This will be the team's third year attending the Regional Rally Championship event in Missouri, and driver/team owner John Cassidy feels confident that their Subaru STi is in good form for the event. "The crew has worked extremely hard over the past few months to get the car in great shape for the event. Now it's up to myself and Adam to get the car down the stages quickly!"
Joining Cassidy in the right seat for 100 Acre Wood is co-driver Adam Kneipp. Hailing from Colorado, Kneipp is partnering with Cassidy for the first time for this event. "I'm excited to have Adam join the team for 100 Acre Wood. We're looking to have a good time both on, and off the stages."
2010 sees Last Ditch Racing partnering with VPRacing Fuels. VP is introducing 109e race fuel that the team will run in their turbocharged Subaru. "We're very excited to partner with VP for 2010 and plan to show what the synergy between Last Ditch Racing and VP Race fuels can accomplish in the Northeast!"
The team is also partnering with Openpaddock.net, an online ,otorsports website that brings up-to-date news to fans of all disciplines. "Openpaddock.net is a dynamic website dedicated to bringing timely information to fans of all forms of motorsports, including rally. The website team is very active with podcasting and Cassidy has participated in two podcast discussions on rally topics to date.
LDR's 2010 season will continue with New England Forest in July, as well as select Canadian Championship events.
Plans to contest the upcoming Rally Mexico fell through at the last minute, which was bittersweet for the team. Said Cassidy, "We were looking forward to a return to Mexico, having last competed there in 2006. Many people tried very hard to make our attendance there in 2010 a reality, but it wasn't to be. We'll regroup and explore our options for attending other international events this season. With the pressure of the added event no longer an issue, we're free to fully invest our energies into the Regional Rally Championship this weekend."
The push to attend the current race has involved the time, energy and efforts of fans, riends, family and understanding employers. The LDR crew would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all those who have sent their well wishes to the team!
Last Ditch Racing would like to thank their 2010Partners for their support:
