NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- The Eurosport Manhattan Rally Team will be headed to Harrisville, NY for the next round of the Northeast Club Rally Championship. Black River Stages, presented by the Central N.Y. Region of the SCCA, is set to take place September 28-29, 2001. The event is a coefficient 2 ClubRally, consisting of 8 stages covering 45 competitive miles.

The team is happy to be able to attend this event after the recent tragedy in New York City. Eurosport Manhattan Rallying is located in downtown Manhattan, nearly 6 blocks from the site of the attack. Luckily, everyone on the team was unharmed and there were no damages to our facility. This was a tragic event and our neighborhood bears the scars of this attack.

Eurosport Manhattan Rallying will have two cars competing this upcoming weekend. Andrew Hadjiminas and Luis Figueiredo will again be at the controls of the Open class Subaru Impreza Turbo. This is Andrew and Luis' first full season and they are quickly coming to grips with the Open class car. The main objective of this season has been to gain as much stage mileage as possible. The season started off on a bad note for the team with 2 DNF's, but since then have seem to put it all together and are looking to keep improving on their speed. "Our last event was Maine Forest in July, so we are going to take it easy and get comfortable again. We plan on using this event as a shakedown for the upcoming Rally NY on October 13th", commented Andrew.

Tony Birbilis and Marios Socratous will be piloting the Group N Ford Escort Cosworth. This is Tony's first year of competition and is progressing along very nicely. He is coming off an excellent 12th overall finish at the Paul Bunyan's Ride ClubRally and is looking for another good result. Marios will be bringing his international rallying experience to the team and will be helping Tony further improve his driving. Marios was a Group N competitor in the Cyprus National Championship and has competed on the International Rally of Cyprus on numerous occasions. "We are both very excited to competing together this weekend. I am extremely delighted to have Marios experience in the car", says Tony.
