GOLDEN VALLEY, MN -- Rally America announced today that the Reno Rally taking place in Reno, NV on Dec. 1 2 has been postponed. Rally America has asked Wild West to be the final race of the 2006 National Championship series.
"Its really too bad we had to replace the Reno Rally at this time," said J.B. Niday, managing director for Rally America. "The event chairman, David Hackett, is developing the event and Rally America looks forward to a Reno event in the future."
"It is important to Rally America that all our events are successful. When Wild West was forced to reschedule the opportunity presented itself to take some pressure off the Reno event and give it more time to develop. I am encouraging them put on a regional rally in early 2007."
The Wild West rally, originally scheduled for September 9 10, was postponed due to fire danger, has been rescheduled for Dec. 2 3 in Olympia, WA. "The Wild West was a National Championship event for many years and they organize some of the best events in the country. This will be a great place to conclude the race for the Rally America 2006 National Championship."
Rally America will now have two rallies in the Pacific Northwest, as the Oregon Trail rally was already Round #3 of the series in April. The Wild West rally will provide breath-taking views on challenging mountainous stages for all participants.
Rally America has three events left on the 2006 schedule. Colorado Cog on September 23 24, Lake Superior on October 20 21 and Wild West on December 2 3. Please visit us at www.rally-america.com.
