Dave Weiman Returns to ProRally

Knoxville, TN -- Co-driver Dave Weiman is returning to the ProRally circuit to compete in the Prescott Forest Rally with Team LeConte Driver, Kendall Russell. Dave Weiman is a 30-year veteran of rally racing and has co-driven for such notable drivers as Rod Millen, Kris Mellon, Steve Nowicki, and Tom Grimshaw. The pairing of Russell and Weiman for the Prescott Forest ProRally will team up one of the most experienced co-drivers in ProRally with one of the most consistent new drivers in the sport.

While on break from co-driving on the ProRally scene, Dave Weiman found time to take the driver's seat on the SCCA National Road Rally circuit. He has driven to first place overall in over 15 National Road Rallys and to first in class in over 25 National SCCA Road Rallys. Weiman is a two time National TSD Rally Champion.

Dave Weiman also has the distinction of pre-checking the first ProRally Special Stage ever run in the United States at the 1968 Press On Regardless rally. "I guess you could say that I am officially an 'Old Fart'," said Weiman, who further stated, "While thinking about returning to ProRally, I have followed the development of new drivers in the sport. Kendall Russell is a new face on the scene who has proven that she can drive and I am confident that we can finish well at Prescott."

Team LeConte Crew Chief, Lincoln Woodard, and Team Manager, John Shirley, both agree that Kendall drives well when she has confidence in the right seat. "We think that Kendall has been pushing the limits of her Production GT Dodge Shadow ES. Consistency from an experienced co-driver like Dave Weiman should help her press the limits even further before we move her to a faster car," John Shirley stated.

The Prescott Forest ProRally will be run October 2nd and is the eighth race of the Michelin SCCA ProRally Championship Series. The race will cover 106 stage miles in elevations ranging from 4000 to 6500 feet.
